Bisque - another term for Porcelain - (back to top)

(most are german or french, at least the antique ones are, the newer bisque is usually american) Doll Repair - need body repairs, limb repair, wig, clothing, restringing, and eye repair. Some need porcelain repairs (small breaks, chips etc.)

Composition Dolls - (back to top)

Doll Repair - Need a lot of work usually. They are often broken, missing limbs and fingers, the paint is peeling off and they are cracked and sometimes in very rough shape. I sand, patch, airbrush, refinish, clean, dress and redo hair on them. Composition dolls are from the early 1900-1940s.

Usually need cleaned, and airbrushed,then dressed.

Hard Plastic dolls - (back to top)

Doll Repair - Need cleaned, hair styled, clothed, cleaned, and mended or new outfit made. Sometimes they need restrung.

Celluloid dolls - (back to top)

A very old type of plastic, Usual doll repair - need cleaned and restrung, they must be cared for carefully because they are fragile.

Wood Dolls - (back to top)

Doll repair - (very old) need cleaned and restrung.

Vinyl - (back to top)

Doll Repair - (newer dolls) need cleaned, hair done, dressed, restrung, outfits made, sometimes they have stains on the vinyl and I can get that off too!

All of these dolls could need wigs, clothes, shoes, socks, some need eyes or a body part that is missing. I have all these things.

Painting - I do my painting with the airbrush. I have three different airbrushes I use. A good paint job is essential for a quality doll repair.

Crack Repair - Porcelain Repair - I sand, patch, airbrush, refinish, and clean a doll before it is ready to get new clothes.

Father Christmas This doll I made was featured in the Doll Crafter magazine. Father christmas, dressed in Antique fur and they put a picture of it in the mag. I have four blue ribbons and six red ribbons in doll restoration. Last year I won judges choice in porcelain repair. I have repaired over three thousand dolls so far. I never turn away a basket case doll. I will fix it even if it seems hopeless!

I also make custom porcelain dolls and santas, using all my antique fabric and trims. I make a lot of antique reproduction porcelain dolls and doll house dolls. I have been painting dolls for about 30 years now.
